Interceptor and Advantix
I don't give anything for fleas, as none of my dogs have ever had them (I just jinxed that, I know)
And we give liquid Ivomec for heartworms.
Use Frontline Plus for ticks ( very heavy in our area) but have never had a flea .
I think if you have cats your chances on having fleas are greater????
I start FLine in April and stop in Aug. as ticks are pretty much done. Use
nothing all winter as they really don't need those xtra chems. on them for
no reason. Necessary evil, eh?
My guys are both on sentinel. Takes care of fleas (in a "birth control type way" ) heartworms, hookworms, roundworms, and I *think* tapeworms too..... but I could be wrong on that last one.
And it's an easy pill once a month. Just add a little peanut butter and you're done, no mess of the liquid stuff.

Advantix here. I like it better than Frontline, but it's just my experience and others disagree. It's buggy here in FL, so I treat every 28 days.
I don't let my dog swim 2 or 3 days BEFORE or after application. It seems to "stick" the best this way.

I use Iverhart plus @ 45 days and in the spring for ticks I use frontline plus until the ticks are gone (about 3 months) and if I see a flea I use advantage (when I'm not using frontline).
I use interceptor for worms and I use frontline plus on Barnsley. Lilly kept getting a rash so I had to quit using anything on her for fleas. So far so good as we haven't had any.
