what can i do for my itchy dog ? we buy him good food no wheat no corn ect. the vet thinks he is allergic
to pollen she looked at his skin under the microscope.we give him benadryl but he still keeps itching.
You feed Candidae Platinum, right? Maybe it's a food that does not work for him. It didn't for my dog - hot spots, crappy coat. It also contains sunflower oil, which some dogs do not well on. Long time ago, I fed my dog California Natural, which had sunflower oil, and he seemed to scratch a lot on that food. Once I got him off it, he stopped scratching. If its an environmental issue, meaning could be the time of year when pollens and stuff are acting up, maybe try an omega-3 supplement. My friend has good luck with Nupro.
My dog Ernie is sensitive to wheat and chicken fat.
I can't feed him kibble for any lenght of time as he itches non stop. I started on raw and he is a different dog.
You could try a raw diet and see how that goes. We have a raw section that might help.
