Haha This afternoon, my husband gave Petey (14 month old lab) a few bites of his Lebanese meat pie.. and guess who has gas? (Well yeah, probably my husband too, but that's another story lol). This is the first time I've experienced doggy gas, and let's just say... smells like rotten eggs!!
He's already went outside and pottied.. I thought this would take care of the problem but obviously ::holds nose:: it didn't!!
I was wondering if I could give him a Gas-X chewable (actually, it's the store brand.. "compare to Gas-X E-X strength.. simethicone 125mg")?
...I guess I can't brag "MY DOG NEVER HAS GAS!" anymore lololol
I can't help. By the time you get answers the gas would have stopped. I know it is horrible.
Guess husband has learned a lesson.
I can often hear Erns before I smell it, then he has the check to look at me, then get up and walk away.
The chewable won't work - passes through their digestive tracts too fast. Try the children's liquid formula.
Puff gas been cutting loose some stinkers, lately, which is not at all usual for her. No change in food, I don't know what's causing it.
Puff [YF, AKC field line (from competing HT/FT breeder) 62 lbs, dob: 8-'01]
Bess [BF, AKC bench line (from competing show breeder) 55 lbs., 1967-1981] "Poor Bess, the Wonder Dog":
I would consult your vet before giving him anything OTC they don't handle meds the same way we do. Mocha lets some real stink bombs a lot.
Well, good news, after a few hours, it finally stopped.
Haha what I was REALLY worried about was him having gas ALL NIGHT (he sleeps in bed between us, and half the time his butt is in either one of our faces lol).
No more meat pies for the dog! Ever! ~~me
You ain't jokin! ~~husband
A friend swears by charcoal dog biscuits. Old mother Hubbard makes them, as does Sportmix.
