bandit broke out with a rash last week we took him to the vets and she gave him some meds
and and give him some benadryl.she scraped his skin and looked at it under a microscope
and said he was allergic to pollen. has any one had this problem.
When Puff runs in tall grasses wet with dew, the pollen and moisture on her tummy can give her a pyoderma -- a staph infection.
Antibiotics can knock it but it soon returns.
The most effective treatment has been:
-- lathering a Rx medicated shampoo (Benzoyl Plus) on her belly, leaving it on for 10 minutes, then rinsing it off. That removes the pollen and the medication.
-- thorough drying of her tummy right afterwards.

HK gets the same type of thing. I call it a mild rash on her tummy. The vet gave us a tube of some kind of antibiotic for staph infections. It seems to work great and doesn't take much.
