    Defaultwinter scratching

For the past couple of weeks, Potter has been scratching A LOT whereas he's usually not much of a scratcher at all. His food hasn't changed and, though I've looked countless times, I can find no evidence of fleas anywhere. He doesn't have a rash like he would get before we switched him to wheat-free food about a year ago. Basically, I can't think of anything that would be causing him to scratch so much.

My only guess is that his skin is dry from the winter weather (we've had more consistently cold weather here in Northern FL for the past few weeks than we usually do), but he already gets a fish oil capsule every night.

Do you all have any other ideas what could be causing this? He seems perfectly fine in every other way.

Thanks for any help you can give!

The fish oil capsule could be contributing. Many have soy, which can be an issue for some dogs. Salmon capsules usually don't contain soy or other ingredients that could be a problem.

He actually is on salmon oil. Sorry, I should have been more specific.
