I have had Oakley on Canidae Lamb and Rice for about 6 months.
I went to buy a new bag and a store employee went and got the bag for me and put it in my car.
I forgot to tell him that I needed the lamb and rice formula and didn't see that it was the Chicken, Turkey, Lamb and Fish formula until I got home.
Should I return it to get the Lamb and Rice formula or should I just keep this formula?
If I do keep this formula, do I need to phase in the new formula?
Sorry if these sound like silly questions but we are going away for a few days and I don't want to cause any stomach upset.
Is there any reason that you fed the lamb and rice? In other words, do you have a suspicion that this food will not set well with him? If not, I'd just feed it. Some people switch cold turkey, others mix it. Mixing is the safe route if you don't know how he'll adjust. Just gradually increase the amount of new food over the course of a week or so.
Thanks Nick. At the time I bought the lamb and rice I wanted to change her protein source (allergy suspicions) but the allergy reaction came back anyway. I don't have a suspicion that this food will not set well with her. She should be fine.
I thought that is what I should do but wanted someone else's opinion.
I would feed it. Dogs tend to do better with some variety.
