We had Harrison Neutered on Tuesday - Poor Guy. The surgery went well and we had him microchipped and hips Xrayed as well. We were told that he doesn't have the "greatest" hips - but not to be too worried at this point.
My question - it still seems like he has some "sagging" and looks like he did before the surgery?
Is this normal?
Yes -- very normal. The "sagging" will go with time. It might take a few weeks/months, but it will go.
True, the skin/scrotum needs to shrink/shrivel up or atrophy so to speak.
They don't remove the scrotum just cut it open and remove the testicles.
Trust me I 've seen it done on horses right on the front lawn numerous times and it is a very quick procedure.
Your boy will be fine.
Thanks everyone! Its my first pup - so I worry about everything and only want the best for him!
I have no experience with boy dogs, but my boy cat was HUGE before he was neutered. I told him the little girls would be disappointed ..... he was neutered about 7 months ago, and they got someway smaller, but you can clearly see he's a boy .... still.
