    Defaultbald spots on elbows

I don't know if it's normal for my puppy to have bald spots on her elbows? they're kinda rough and thick. I'm not sure how she got them. Is it some sort of flea or mite causing this?

if it's on both elbows it is likely a typical elbow callous on each one. Elbows get a lot of wear and tear from dogs resting on them. But, I'm guessing on telling you that this is what you've noticed on your puppy since I have not actually seen your puppy's elbows. I rarely think about elbow callouses on dogs since it seems many dogs have them.

How old is your pup? How big are the spots? It's pretty normal for them to have callusus like DaisyHunter said it's just from them laying on hard surfaces and isn't really a problem. If the pup is really young or the spots are over maybe quarter size I would have the vet take a look.

she's 3 months old and the spots is not localized (not just one in an elbow) but 2-3 spots about the size of a quarter.

She's really young for calluses. Might be a good idea to have your vet check her out to rule out demodex mites or infection.

Those look pretty darned irritated with the redness and scabs...definitely not "typical" elbow calluses, and I agree- she's pretty young for those, unless she spends a lot of time laying on hard concrete or tile floors. I would have them looked at by your veterinarian...they could, indeed, be related to mites (demodex, especially, though possibly others as well).

Baloo is a little over three months, sleeps on the kitchen floor pretty much all the time and he has no such things, I would definitely get him/her to a vet.

What about the puppy's face? are there any hair spots missing there? Usually with localized mange it hits the face/legs pretty much at the same time.

Hope it's nothing serious, good luck!

her face is clear. i'm thinking they're perhaps scabs since i notic other dried up spots that do look like healing wounds.

Those look like scabs! They don't look like the bald spot dogs get from lying on hard floors.
