my dog nine month old yellow lab was limping on his front legs the vet thinks it could be elbow dysplasia
but was not sure.she was not sure gave him rimadyl 100 mg seems to be working ok.i will let you know
when the meds are done
you will need to have radiographs taken of your dogs front legs and sent off to an orthopedic specialist to determine if it is ED. Most vets do not have the experience or capability to correctly diagnose ED. It could also be pano (growing pains) which he would grow out of.
My girl Jazz has ED and had bilateral arthroscopic elbow surgery to remove fragments from her elbows at 12 months as a result. I would advise you to have xrays done and consult with an orthopedic specialist about options if in fact it is ED.
Good Luck with everything... there are lots of people on this board with active labs who also have ED...

Agree with Jasmine's Dad - please have radiographs taken to be sure of what you are dealing with. I hope your pup turns out to be okay

Maddy went through ED and arthroscopic surgery too. The ONLY way to tell is with xrays. Do you live somewhere where you have access to a orthopedic vet? My experience is that it's best just to go straight to them.
9 month old limping...I'd suspect Pano before I'd suspect ED. Xrays will diagnose either way (Pano is visible on the xray).
I agree with x-rays for proper diagnosis. IMO your vet should have recommended this before guessing and administering meds.
