Does anyone happen to know why my 3 year old lab likes to roll in poo? I've heard its because he doesn't like his smell after a bath...so, I stopped the scent they were putting on him and it stopped his rolling. But - when it rains, he goes out there and rolls in whatever contains the WORST smell I've smelt....any clues or any way to stop?
Smells good to him!! ;D ;D
I know they make doggie "cologne", maybe that would help?
Baloo - 5 year old black lab
Peanut - 7 year old minpin
Monster - 3-ish year old frenchie/jack, rescue
I have the same problem with Saska only it is Foxes poo, it smells revolting and it is very hard to get rid of smell, if anybody knows how to stop her rolling in it I would be forever grateful :
The only way I can think of to make them stop rolling in stuff is a leash. I have a big bottle of Nature's Miracle Skunk Remover on hand for such emergencies. There are a couple of theory's as to why they do this. One is that when a dog comes back to the pack with a lot of smells they are a story teller and story tellers are held in very high esteem.
