Cammy has been experiencing diarrhea and soft stools for about a month...not every time she goes to the bathroom. At this time we were giving her a knuckle bone to chew. She hasn't had a bone now for about a week, but the soft stools continue. We haven't changed her food or her supplements. Her appetite has been good. She did vomit about 2 or 3 weeks ago and gave her some rice for a couple of days. I'm not sure what to think. Do I give her Pepto Bismol? Rice for a week??
Take her to a vet!
Could be coccidia, giardia (which is also transferable to humans), over feeding, an intolerance to something in the food, routine being upset, etc. Too many things to rule out. Take her to a vet and get everything medically ruled out first.

there are many causes for diarrhea.. many young puppies experience soft stool because of their food, eating things they shouldn't but so do adult dogs. Many many causes from just an upset stomach to serious virus conditions. If your dog has had this for a month, its either her food or supplements or she is pretty sick with something. You need to get ehr to the vet for some testing. Good luck
I'll give the vet a call tomorrow and see what he has to say....keep ya posted.
I think that's a wise choice. There can be so many causes so it's best to eliminate any medical problems or parasites. If that checks out, then I'd start looking at what all you're feeding.
Well, I called the vet and they suggested that I feed her rice and some chicken for a couple of days. We talked about the possibility of the knuckle bone giving her the runs.
Today, she had a firmer stool so we'll see how it goes.....
well thats good, hopefully the rice and chicken will help her get back on track.. let us know how she does
