    Defaultleg wound

Help, I'm new to this forum and Babe has a small wound on the front of her leg down near her paw. She got this by reaching through the pen that she is in during the day. They stay in the house at night but loving staying outside during the day. I took her to the vet in December for this and he gave her antibiotics and cream to put on it. I have to wrap it at night to keep her from licking but I wrap during the day because she just tears it off. I have took her back to the vet several times and he just keeps giving me the same medicine and sending me home. This is going on too long. Does anyone else have suggestions. It isn't bleeding or draining but it is raw and swollen. Sorry for such a long message.

I am not sure I understand what you are saying, but if Babe is tearing off the bandage, you may have to resort to using a cone collar on her to keep her from licking the wound. Licking the wound in itself can become an annoying hard to stop habit.

And - keeping her in the house while wearing the collar is what needs done too - However, I'd not leave them outside when I was gone under any circumstances.

Ditto the 2 replies above. She should be in the house wearing a cone so she can't mess with it. It's never going to heal is she has access to lick it. I'd take her to a different vet, too. How bad is it? Can you post a picture of it?

Sorry, I was sick yesterday and just busy at work today and just checked the site. I will try to post a picture tonight. I took her to the vet yesterday and he gave her a steriod shot, some antibiotics and some medicine to calm her so she wouldn't lick (not too sure about giving her that one). He never mentioned a cone but I may have to get her one and just keep her in the house. She can stay inside while I'm at work, she just enjoys it outside in her kennel more. Thanks for everyone's advice.
