Auntie Ann is putting Dixie on EVO since Dixie was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor. (hopefully all removed)

Is there anything she should know when she starts feeding this?

    TIA

Very good choice. My friend has a dog with cancer and the docs at the University of Auburn say that cancer feeds on carbs. Will be interested to hear how Dixie does on this.

Yep, that's the reason why I suggested it. I would have put Darby on this had I had a chance to do so. Her cancer took over too quickly.

She'll probably need to cut the amount of food down pretty drastically, depending on the calorie count of what she was feeding before. EVO is very high in calories and it can pack on the pounds pretty quickly.

Yup...Rider eats only 1c. twice a day. The switch over will have the normal gas issues, until she gets used to it...Auntie Ann will start seeing a difference in the size and consistency of her poops, her ears and if she had dander, it will go away. I'd recommend laying off any additional treats until she gets used to it...or only using EVO treats.

Morgan has done well on this - and did not pack on #'s with it. Due to other health (allergy/antibiotic use) issues, I did an all at once switch and other than 1 day of the runs had no problem - so might might might be ok to switch quickly if need be!

Thanks everyone. Hopefully this will keep Dixie's MCT at bay and she can live a long healthy life.

Sort of off topic a bit -- but I'm curious that if cutting carbs starves the cancer, does cutting carbs also prevent it?
