Defaultanyone have a really small lab?? - New with pictures

Just curious. My 6-month-old girl is really super short but very stocky...I feed her 1c Nutro in the morning and 1c at night. I just switched her to the adult brand (because we also have an adult Golden).

Well mine is pretty much a shortie ... she's full grown and just slightly above 21". She's only 55 lbs. too. Most people who see her just assume she's a puppy.

Duke was just under 4 lbs at 7 weeks.* At 12 weeks yesterday at the vet he weighed 13lbs.* Oh, and I forgot, he was the biggest in his litter. His mother and father were really small. His father was about 55-60 lbs at 2 1/2 yrs and mother about 45-50 lbs at 3 yrs.

I often wonder about my Libby being very short and stocky. She was a rescue so I certainly don't know her lineage. Yesterday at the vet-she is 17 weeks she weighs 29 lbs but she is only 14" tall. I guess they come in lots of shapes and sizes.

    Libby's mom,

she looks by her picture to be a really dark yellow. Is she by chance "fox red"?

My boys are quite small. They are 58lbs and 60lbs. To me they don't look small but in comparison to some other Labs they are.

Consider a smaller Lab a blessing in disguise. As long as you keep the excess weight off the chances are in their favor that they will live a longer life.

I think Sam is small compared to some of the others I've seen. He's not short (23.5 at the withers) but he only weighs 63 pounds. The vet said that was just right, so I'm not worrying about it. He's two plus.

tkpaul...libby is not a fox red. Fox Red's are dark red...like an irish setter in color.

this is a picture of a true fox red.

Yeah, okay. I just couldn't tell very well from her avatar. I really love that fox red coat. Maybe just the uniqueness of it. I have a friend that just got a fox red. Can't wait to see it.
