Are you feeding too much, maybe?

Just saw your other post...speaking for the 6 month old pup. When my puppy was 6 months old he used to poop 3 sometimes 4 times a day. I thought that was a lot but as he has gotten older ( now 10 months old) he only poops twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night.

It could be that you are feeding more than your dog needs. But I think younger dogs do poop more often than older dogs...just like human babies go potty more often than older humans...unless of course they are sick.

What is "normal" depends on a number of factors. Dogs poop according to what and how much they are fed, how much activity they get, any digestive issues, etc. I would say a normal amount for a normal dog would be 2-3 times a day.

My dogs go 3 times a day and this is definitely the norm for them.

Rowan is three months old and goes 4 times a day. She gets 3 cups of food divided into two feedings and is on Ultra Large Breed Puppy food by Nutro.

It could be the food as well. Mocha went at least 4 times a day when she was on Nutro Natural vs. only 2-3 times a day on her current food and the poo is smaller now too. Every dogs handles food differently though what works for one may not work for the other.

My 6-month old is on the sensitive stomach formula because that is what we feed our golden.
She poops about 4-5 times a day I think. My Golden pooped 3 times just this morning!

    What food is Mocha on?

I really think you should not feed your puppy food for dogs with sensitive stomachs if he doesn't have any stomach issues. Your puppy needs food appropriate for him and your adult dog needs food appropriate for his needs.

Please get both of them food that meet their individual needs...
