Rowan is at the vet with dh getting her third vaccine today. Dh just called and she weighs 27.8 pounds - is this good for a 3 month, 4 day old puppy??
Its hard to say whether her weight is "good" because it differs so much from dog to dog. As long as she is healthy that is all that matters.
Thanks for responding Trickster!!
You scared me!!! "Rowan is at the vets.." I thought it was serious.. like she felt sick or something... I'm glad she just was in for the vaccine! And I'm with Trickster here... as long she's healthy....
And we need some Rowan pics soon I bet she has grown!!!

The development of Labs from puppy to adult is extremely varied due to differences between field lines and bench lines as well as all the variation produced by Back Yard Breeders, Puppy Mills, etc.
If Rowan came from a breeder who has developed some consistency in her/his line, then comparing Rowan with their development will give you the best idea of her future.
My Puff [YF, AKC field line (competitive breeder), 63 lbs., DOB: 8-'01] was the runt of her litter and weighed 6 lbs. at 9 weeks age while all of her 7 littermates weighed twice that amount.
FWIW, at 95 days age, Puff weighed 16 lbs. (and now 63 lbs. as an adult).
Puff [YF, AKC field line (from competing HT/FT breeder) 62 lbs, dob: 8-'01]
Bess [BF, AKC bench line (from competing show breeder) 55 lbs., 1967-1981] "Poor Bess, the Wonder Dog":
wow...my little Rascal is about the same age as your Rowan and he weighed last week (11.5 weeks old) at 19.6 pounds.
Rowan's Daddy is a very big boy ~ I saw him in person in September and the picture on the website doesn't do him justice www.eagertrieve.com* (WILL).* I can feel her ribs when I run my hand down her side but can't see them.* She has definite definition in her body to rear leg.* I think she is going to be a big girl ~ she was the baby of the litter and was actually bottle fed.* I have emailed the owners of the other girls from the litter to see where they are at in comparison.
I am curious to know what Tal and Gannon weigh.
Gabby's just a bit older than Rowan- but she was 32 pounds. So you sound about right
Great! Good to know!
MY Louie went to vet recently, and weighed in at 27 pounds, he is 17 weeks old. He also had a tapeworm, so I'm wondering if he'll gain more weight rapidly, now that the tapeworm is gone ???
