DefaultUpdated seems really tired, should I be worried?

Chase doesn't seem like himself the past few days. He seems extra tired and just not his spunky self. He is eating and peeing and pooping normally. He just seems depressed or extra tired. Molly has even seemed to notice, she tries to play with him and he just ignores her.He has been lethargic and not interested in much.* He was neutered about 4 weeks ago and the only other change is I have gone back to work now Molly and Chase are home alone but it is for a short period of time (4 to 5 hours a day) Chase will be 1 the 24th of October. I am going to call the vet in the morning but in the meantime I thought I would see if I could get any insight in what is going on with him.

It is hard to say over the internet. His behavior could mean a lot of things. Going to the vet is the best idea.

How many hours a day did you spend with Chase prior to you going back to work?
Dogs are very sensetive to our habits, and changes in habits, and may be exhibiting some "depression" related to this! how old is your other dog? The other dog may be more adept to changes in your schedule, whereas Chase is a little more upset. If his "bodily functions" are normal I, peresonally wouldn't be too overly concerned, but would monitor his behavior closely the next few days...Any destructive behavior would be to me, a telltale sign that he is angry with you!!!!

    UPDATE

I took Chase to the Vet this morning, because he really hasn't been himself, and has been extremely tired and not playful, decreased appetite. He also had been kinda of stiff when getting up and moving around. All he wants to is lay around and he has not being h is old spunky self. He is not even a year old!

Well 2 hours later and $300 later I am still not quite sure what is going on. He has no temperature, all vital signs were good. The Vet noticed that he was stiff moving his back legs and hips and seemed a little tender on the back end of his spine. We took X rays of his hips and one of his spine. We also did a complete blood check looking for anything such as Lyme disease to whatever. We won't get the results from the blood work until tomorrow. His x rays looked good on his spine. As for his hip x rays he said they looked okay that the ball part of his hip should be a little more round but that the angle of the xrays it was really hard to tell. They did not pull his legs straight while taking the xray as they do when looking for hip displaysia.(they called his more of a "froggy" position" So I am really confused now about the hips.

He gave him a pain relief injection to see if that helped him be more willing to play and be active this afternoon, and if so it could be that he has a soft tissue sprain or pulled muscle which is preventing him from wanting to play and move around.

The vet said to wait to see how his blood work comes back and to see how much a difference the pain medicine makes for Chase this afternoon and tonight.

    Poor little Chasey boy!!

I was a stay at home mom and was home pretty much all of the time, now I have gone back to work very part time. I leave between 9 and 10 and am home by 2 so yes the schedule has changed. Molly is 2 and she seems fine. However Molly is very independent and could care less about what I am doing and Chase is very much a needy pup and always wants to be near me and is much more lovey dovey!

Well, hopefully the blood results should clear a few thing up for you! We'll hope this is nothing more than him being just a little to "lovey dovey", and missing you !!!! Good Luck!!

DefaultUpdated need advice Re: seems really tired, should I be worried?

the vet and I are both puzzled about his results. he is referring me to a internal specialist.

his total bilirubin is really high 1.4 and normal level is .1 - .3

    which indicates liver problems

any help and advice would be greatly appreciated
I am at a loss. all his other numbers are in the normal range.
i have an appt with the specialist on Thursday am.

Has he gotten into anything? Anything new in his system like heartworm meds or vaccines? Is he on any meds?
