    DefaultSomething is wrong with Cammy

Well, she has me stumed :-\ I haven't walked her since Sunday since it was raining yesterday. This afternoon she was getting up from a nap and she starts limping....her right front leg. She was fine walking down the stairs this morning and nothing unusual happened during the day.
I just came home from a walk and she's limping and favoring this leg.
Can I give her an aspirin for pain?
If she's not better tomorrow, I think I'll bring her in.

How old is Cammy and NO do not give her an aspirin for pain. Dogs are stupid and will overuse the limb, possibly hurting themselves worse if they do not feel pain.

    Hi Laura,
Cammy will be 5 in December. She does have hd in her back hips, and we have been giving her gloco/chron since she was a year. I'm truly baffled by this since she really hasn't been too active since I took her for a walk on Sunday. She did have her usual barking and pawing at the windows this morning because of the squirrels in the yard, but that's it.

Hopefully its nothing. If it continues, then yes you need to see a vet and possibly get xrays of her elbows.

Well, she was limping a little this morning. We took a short walk today and no worse for the wear. How long should I wait to take her to the vet? I want to see how the day goes, and if she's like this afternoon, I'll see if they have an opening.

Anytime a dog is limping they should be rested. Period. No walks, only outside to potty on a lead and either crate rest or absolute rest in the home.

I would take her in as soon as you can.

I would take the dog to the vet for xrays soon. If you think it's an injury, you can always rest it by crating the dog except for potty walks and eating, but otherwise, they REST. But after a few days of that and you see no change, I would go for xrays. If the dog already has HD, I would suspect ED. Have them check the elbows and the shoulders....

Until then, rest. Let us know what they say. Good luck.

Well, this morning she seems to be doing better. I might give this a little more time.... : Hard to know what to do with this sort of thing.
