    DefaultStaph Infection

Hi...Kallie my very active almost 2 year old lab has a staph infection. I was wondering if any other lab parents have had to deal with this. I've read online that this can be very tough to get rid of...any advice would be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks so much,
    Kim

    DefaultRe: Staph Infection

    Where is Kallie's infection?

Puff got recurring staph infections on her belly.* Went on Cephalexin 3X, 21 days each.

Finally I asked to see the dermatologist and she Rx'ed a medicated shampoo to use on Puff's belly and also instructed me to wash off the pollen, dust, etc., she got on her belly and also to dry her very well after she got wet.* I handled that by -- as soon as we finished our 1 hr. walk through the nature preserve -- lathering up her belly with the shampoo, driving her to the lake for swimming retrieves, and then thoroughly drying her with towels.

We "vet" at KSU's CVM Teaching Hospital.
