    DefaultAre Bully sticks ok?

Will it be ok to give Buck Bully sticks to chew on? Or are they just like rawhide?

They're similar to rawhide as you want to keep an eye on the chewer so they don't bite off too big of a piece, but they don't expand in the stomach like (some) rawhide does. Bears dad is correct, they smell horrible once wet so be careful where you allow your dogs to chew them!

Thanks for the smell warning! He will be chewing it outside for sure. He needs something to chew on outside or he tries to go for sticks which make me nervous. Indoors he seems to be ok with his toys.

I am just concerned about it being like a rawhide bone...don't want to go through another blockage incident. I am also getting him those sterlized bones you can stuff with peanut butter and whatever you want and I came across bullysticks and wondered about them :P

I think cow hooves smell worse. And they seem to last forever.

Have you tried raw knuckle or marrow bones? I thow a bunch of them in the yard once a week and they keep the dogs occupied for quite some time....keep those teeth pearly white too!

HAHAH Yessss I do know what they are

I have not tried the marrowbones yet. I figured I'd give him a week after his blockage incident before I introduce marrowbones. Oh and what do you guys do about the doggy breath? He had nice fresh breath when he chewed on rawhide but since that's out his breath is blech! It's not horrendous or anything but it's still pretty meeeehhh!

I buy Jax the Braided Bully Sticks....they last longer and he doesn't attempt to take the stick straight in his mouth (and possibly swallow by mistake). I buy the ones that don't have the odor (thank goodness) cause the smell is pretty obnoxious.
