    DefaultFact or Fiction?

Anyone ever heard of adding egg white to your labs food to help out his/her coat?? I've heard people talk of this...just never tried it.

I don't know if it actually helps improve coat condition or not but I give my dogs raw egg several times a week. Raw egg is a great source of protein.

Are you having coat/skin troubles with your dog?

The yolk has more of a benefit than the white. Better than eggs I give Nellie a can of sardines in olive oil once a week. The omega 3s are wonderful. She also gets some tuna when I eat it.

it's true....however, some people don't like to feed raw egg because of the chances with salminola contanimation.

We just give fish oil capsules. 1 1000mg capsule per meal. It's much easier than mucking around with egg whites.

    FYI,
Apparently, raw egg whites bind to the biotin that a dog ingests and prevents it from being absorbed. Cooked eggs do not do this.

To avoid the salmonilla problem you could give your dogs pasturized eggs.

:-X :-XSardine puppy breath and kisses, I'm not sure I could take it...LOL :-X :-X
Windy gets and egg yolk when I have eggs for breakfast (1-2 times/week) it does seem to be helping keep her coat sleek.
