    DefaultSwithcing to Adult Food

I bet this has been mentioned somewhere before so feel free to not go into enormous detail and just give me a link (lol). When should a puppy be switched to adult food? Molly is 7 months old and weighs around 55-60 lbs.

Should we wait until she is full grown? I was watching something on Discovery Channel or Animal Planet and they suggested around 6-8 months for changing a puppy to adult food. I can't seem to find any articles when I serach so I figured somebody here might know.

    TIA

There won't be 100% agreement on this but the majority opinion is certainly to feed Large Breed Puppy food for the first 12 months and then switch to an adult food, (Large Breed Adult is considered by most as a marketing ploy.)

A minority switch from LBP food to adult food at, variously, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 months.

A smaller minority have never heard of LBP food or used it.

An even smaller few do know of LBP food but do not agree with the 100% of canine nutritional research reports that* recommend it.

We didn't feed LB puppy food at all, and switched Grace at 4 months to adult food.

Hudler was on LB puppy until 12 months. Maddy was on it until 7 months. I just changed my reasoning and food choices, and I'll probably stick with how I feed puppies now for any future ones.

You definately don't need LB adult food. That's just a gimmick.
