    DefaultLump on Ringo's Back

I just noticed a lump on Ringo's back last night. It's below his shoulder blades, and is about 1-2 inches in diameter. When I push on it, it moves around, but feels solid. It doesn't seem to hurt him when I touch it or move it.

What could it be? Is it a pulled muscle? A cyst or tumor of some kind?

I'm wondering if I should take him to the emergency weekend/holiday vet, or just wait and see if it goes away.

Anyone else ever see something like this? BTW, Ringo is almost 2 years old.

I am by no means an expert- so I don't want to advise you on whether or not to go to the emergency vet, but my older dog (she's a dachshund mix) has a lump much like that- my vet said it's a fat deposit fairly common in older dogs and not serious. However I would keep an eye on it and If it grows I would definitely have it looked at. Also look at the post "small lump on Zoe's side " under Lab Health & Nutrition- it sounds similar to what you're talking about. Good luck.

Thanks! That does make me feel a little better. I think I may take him in this week if it doesn't go down a bit. I just seems so big for a fatty deposit.
