So something you were giving him was causing the loose stool.

    Yup... the possible culprits are...

    bananas
    yogurt
    cream cheese
    cheerios

We gave him some banana (frozen kong) this morning... see what happens over the next 24 hrs. I'm probalby going to use his kibble as his "treats" for puppy k class.

thanks Tracie... yeah I've heard that some labs can be lactose intolerant and if that's the case, I'll be happy just knowing that THAT is the problem.

I'm going to rule out the other things first though... last thing I will try will be the yogurt but I have a feeling that that might be it.

Labs aren't any more lactose intolerant than any other breed or human. Some can be, some don't have a problem.

I hate it when my mother is right and really knows nothing about dogs; but when I had Zoe at my grandmothers that summer (2 years ago) and was putting yogurt on her food; my mom said, I bet she keeps having the runs because she can't eat dairy ... don't feed that puppy that dairy! I of course had to tell my mother that this was good for her; blah blah blah. I hate it when she's right! :P

Cheerios were brutal on Miles’ system. We were using them as training treats when we first got him, figuring they were cheap and low-cal. It was a horrible mess on the other end, and we stopped that habit right quick.
