Hi all - a couple of times in the last week my pup Dooley has had unequal pupils. On Saturday I saw it happen again and it was dramatic so I snapped a picture and took him to the vet. The vet referred him to a veterinary eye specialist but we have not been seen yet. Has anyone seen this happen in their pup? If I read about it online it can look scary....
My guess is that it could be a seizure of sorts.
Saw a veterinary ophthalmologist this week (didn't know there was such a thing until our vet referred). He said it was "persistent pupilary membranes" that are typically gone by 4 weeks but are still hanging on in our 4 month old. He was not concerned in the slightest and said if he hasn't outgrown it by 6 months to check back. Big relief!
Did you look at a photo of persistent pupilary membranes? It's strands in the eye, nothing spoke of uneven pupils. Good luck.
