so I brought lucky yesterday to the vet cause she had a little bump/growth on her lip now for at least a month...im glad I did cause the vet said it looked like a small tumor, and most likely its benign...but she got it removed and they sent it in to be tested....
i hope its not bad, and i hope she doesnt get anymore
Many dogs get some bumps (warts, skin tags, etc.) around or in their mouths before they're two years old.*
My Puff had some but my copy of Giffin & Carlson's "Dog Owner's Home Veterinary Handbook" said that if they do NOT clear up spontaneously with 4-8 weeks, then consider removal.* But usually as a dog's immune system matures, they'll disappear.
While I'm usually satisfied with the service we get at K-State's CollVetMed Tchng Hospl, a few times I've definitely NOT been.
We saw a different vet from our usual and he noticed the bumps around her mouth and suggested that we schedule her in for surgery to have them removed.*
Since I'd read G&C, I said no, we'll wait and see.
Sure enough, they disappeared on their own several weeks later.
I think he was just practicing his wallet milking skills on us.

the one particular bump was larger and reddish/white and was there for like 2 months....he did tell us that sometimes after a month they shrivel up and fall off if its something else, but since its been 2 months, we should removed it.....i hope he didn't take advantage of us...
