    DefaultEye discharge

Molly has discharge from her eye and her eye is red. I am going to call the vet when they open today.

Dumb question, 2 of my kids have "pink eye" or conjunctivitis which I know is contagious between people, can dogs get it from us too?

It is contagious between dogs. I'm not sure if it is interspecies contagious. I'm glad you are going to get it checked out. It could be something as simple as allergies or something more serious like an infection or even distemper.

Buck had something similar...Vet concluded it was a mild infection possibly related to allergies...she gave him an ointment which I put in his eyes twice a day for 7 days and everything has cleared up now...

Went to the Vet. He said it was more than likely from the pollen and it is allergies. He gave us some eye drops. He said yes it is possible for conjunctivitis to be passed from animal to person and vice versa, but not real likely. He said he had a vet assistant that kept passing conjunctivitis between her cat and herself.
