    DefaultEye discharge?

Abby has some yellow/green goop coming out of her left eye. Our vet is closed today so we called the ER vet to see what suggestions they would have. They said and I quote "this is an EMERGENCY clinic, we reccomend you don't bring them unless they have life threatining injury"...you can bet we'll be complaining about them, but in the mean time does anyone have any thoughts? Are human eye drops safe for dogs?

Abby has an appointment tomorrow for her yearly check up anyway so I'm sure we'll have him look at her eye unless it gets worse in which case we'll call the other ER vet...that's a last resort though as they're over an hour away.

Sounds like it could be conjunctivitis or it could be from allergies. Use a warm tissue or cotton ball and wipe it out to keep the junk out. Don't put anything in it until you see the vet ... certain medications can make trouble for the eyes.
