    DefaultCut/Torn Paw Pad

My 5 1/2 month old yellow lab, Penny, partially tore one of her dew claws. It has stopped bleeding...but should I take her to the vet or will it heal on it's own? I've put antibiotic cream on it and try to wrap it - but she keeps tearing the bandage off!

Any advise would be be appreciated.

I'm no expert (at all), but I personally would call my vet and ask their opinion. That will be difficult because of the holdiays. I wouldn't call this tear an emergency - so I think waiting until Monday will be okay. Like you said, you have put antibiotic cream on it. Keep her relaxed and I'm sure she will be just fine. When you call the vet they will have recommendations for you. Maybe others will have some more advice. Take care.

Yes, that's the right thing to do, I'm sure. I'll call tomorrow. Other than getting VERY upset if I try to wrap it...she's acting normal!
