    DefaultGrowths on the Lip??

    Hi there,
I have a two year old Lab. I just noticed today that she has two little round fleshy growths, I guess???, on the bottom of her lip. They weren't there last night and I noticed them today? They are round, much smaller than a pea, and the two growths are on top of each other,

Are these growths?? How would she get them and are they serious??

    Thx!!!!!

They be either VIRAL PAPILLOMAS or canine acne, which happens in younger dogs and dogs that eat out of plastic bowls.

My breeder really stressed that Sami should only be fed out of stainless steel bowls or food- safe ceramic. The reason is because apparently the plastic can become scratched and can harbor bacteria. I use stainless steel and I wash them with hot soapy water every day and run them through the dishwasher at least once or twice a week.

Because of the age of the Lab (2 years) it may be the acne (or something else).

The papillomas (skin tags) around the mouth are much more common among pups less than a year old before their immune system is fully developed

My Puff got them when she was about 6 months old and they remitted spontaneously within a couple months.
