    DefaultEar problem

Hirshey was just neutered. On taking the cone off I've discovered he had some brown goop stuck inside his ear. Cleaned it with alcohol seems a little better. Anyone else have ear problems?

Nope. No ear problems here. Do thorough check every day and do "maintenance" cleaning.

Seems to me you might want to figure out how that brown goop got there? What's the time frame? Was the brown goop there BEFORE the neutering? Is you lab have access to water (swimming) BEFORE the neutering?

Instead of alcohol may want to try witch hazel or even use baby wipes . I do keep zymox on hand , will use when we have rainy / humid periods

    good luck !!

we check the ears often. usually nothing doing. a holistic vet told us half alcohol half water and that's what we've been using. eli, the frenchie is checked more often as he is a batman with big standing up ears tho folded down ears , like labs , get their fair share. if your dog swims, they must have dried off ears each and every time.

I check ears almost daily and clean with witch hazel when needed. I use Zymox when they are bad.
