DefaultLab will not lift head when walking

Came home from work today and my lab did not greet me. When he finally got up he is walking with his head lowered. He is eating and drinking normal. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Dylan is 10 and he can get up but very hesitant and he can walk but it is slow. Just seems that the neck is very stiff. I just came in from letting him get in the pool to swim and he was able to swim and he actually showed a slight bit more mobility in the neck after the swim.

So it is the end of the day and Dylan is still extremely hesitant to get up and is very stiff and holding head down when up and walking. Please share with me if you have ever heard of this before. I will be taking him the vet on Friday if he has not improved. Hoping it is just a strain.

I had one years ago who suffered a neck (whiplash type) injury in play and she too could not hold her head up. Had the vets caught it earlier, a simple series of chiropractic adjustments likely would have remedied it but because we "dinked around" w/ crate rest and rimadyl, I ended up having to do more intense prolotherapy injections. I'd try to find a good holistic vet who can xray (and rule out disc issues) and do chiropractic at least. My girl is going on 11 now, and never had another problem after that.

Agree with windycanyon...I was going to say some time of hip injury but if the neck is the problem, I would say some type of spinal injury by the sounds of it.
