Why do you want to soften their pads? The hardness helps protect them

 

Hi, Im sorry if I didnt explain my question well...I don't want to soften them...she plays hard like most labs do two paws seem to be sore as she keeps licking them...I just thought by putting something on them it would sooth her paws

 

Have you checked the paws to make sure she hasn't trodden on anything which could have stuck? Im not too sure what you could use on her paws otherwise, hope its sorted soon for you.

 

Hmm...this makes me wonder if I should put something on Piper's paws. I just noticed this past week (when she was laying around feeling sorry for herself after her surgery and I was laying around feeling sorry for myself after her surgery) that the pads of her feet are starting to change. They look drier and rougher, more "cracked" looking. Is this normal?
