Mia my silver lab has a hard time eating her food, can anybody explain this behavior? She cries and barks at her food and acts really strange toward it.
try a new bag of food and see if the behavior changes. my female did that to the diamond food i was feeding and later i found out, the hard way, that the food was toxic
Probably because there is no such thing as a silver lab.

weims are weird.
Are you just dumping in dry food, no water or anything? I would try an elevated feeder and I would add some water to moisten the kibbles. If the behavior continues, I would take the dog to the vet. But know that silver labs are in-bred to keep the color, with no attention usually to genetic disorders or temperament. So it's hard to know what's wrong. Could be medical, could be mental.
It's like Dane breeders who are ethical do not breed certain colors together to prevent getting the all white dogs who are often born blind. Silver breeders focus only on color, and keep it through unscrupulous methods....
When my dog did that, he was sick. Looks like she would like to eat, but the smell repels her.
I would take the dog and the food to the vet so the vet would see what was occurring...that would really concern me.
It almost looks like she’s trying to bury it. How long has she been doing this? Had it gotten worse?
Have you tried a different bowl? Location? Brand of food?
One thing that comes to mind is OCD, yes dogs can develop OCD too.
