My Gibson (yellow male, will be 12 years old in a few weeks), is showing signs of his age. He has some hearing loss and I believe a little vision loss as well. In the last few days, I'm seeing he is slow in getting up. It looks like it's more of a weakness in his back legs. He does not show any signs of being in pain, and still will initiate playing a light game of ball in the house and sometimes outside. He's a good weight for his size (79lbs).
I feed him grain-free. He's on Taste of the Wild kibble. I also give him 1,000 mgs of Omega 3 fish oil once a day. I'd like to add a supplement to help him in his old age, one that will help him with his legs. I do plan on calling the vet on Monday to ask her opinion, but I'd like some input from anyone here with an older dog.
What do you all use?
