I gave Gibson a bath yesterday with the hose outdoors. The weather was nice, but the water was a bit cold. Also, Gibby was having so much fun that he really ran around and butt-tucked for about an hour all over the yard.
He was acting funny this morning, and by this afternoon, yelped when he wagged his tail. I noticed he is carrying his tail in a odd position...it extends out a few inches, then drops straight down.
It looks like cold tail to me. Is there anything more I can do for him, other than giving him time to rest? I was thinking about taking him to the vet if the pain persists.
Poor Gibson. Murray and I will commisserate with you.
Yes, in my opinion, it is a case of cold tail. My lab has the same problem last week... Just wait a pair of day, and if you want give to your friend an antiinflamatories (I generally use Aulin).
Sorry to hear about Gibson. Give him an anti-inflammatory and he should be ok in a day or two. He won't want anyone messing with his tail. It really is very painful.
