Haven't been on here in awhile.
My lab is now 11 1/2 yrs and has been diagnosed with Laryngeal paralysis as well as atypical cushings.
Her symptoms for the laryngeal paralysis are the panting and frequent clearing her throat when she gets too excited/ barking.
Her symptom for the cushings are hair loss and panting.
She has been tested and advised not to treat either.
We have removed her collar and she now wears a harness.
She eats her gastro diet moist with water as she also had two bouts of HGE this year.
My question is should I board her with the laryngeal paralysis? I am concerned that she might start excessive barking at
the kennel and cause a spell?
Has anyone here boarded a dog with laryngeal paralysis?
I'm about to find out since I'll be leaving for 5 days the latter part of this month and
she'll be staying at a new-to-her place
My 12 y.o. Puff was diagnosed with LP but the recommendation of the vets at
KSU-CollVetMed was that she doesn't need an operation at this time.
I hadn't thought of LP being a particular problem in boarding but I do routinely leave
her vet's number to contact in case of emergency. And I'll tell those people who'll board
her about her symptoms.
