Baby girl got spayed yesterday; we picked her up from the vet this morning! So far she seems to be doing great, minimal attempts to lick or scratch. She sure does have a lot of energy though for just having surgery! I knew this would happen. Thank goodness she loves her crate. Any advice for after surgery calm down sessions? I know theres always crate time..but what if she starts acting rambunctious as usual? Thanks for the suggestions in advance.
Also...I heard sometimes after spaying they lose a bit of bladder control..is this true??
PS. Doc prescribed an anti itch/yeast medicine for her for the skin irritations; they were yeast build ups and environmental skin rash.

She is a cutie! I hope she heals quickly.
Ahhh poor girl with her cone on! She looks so cute! I would try an interactive type toy, like one of those treat puzzles or a kong wobbler to keep her busy if she usually gets the zoomies like my boy does in the evenings. I had a boxer mix and when she was spayed, I could barely even tell. She acted like nothing happened to her and didn't have any pee problems at all. This was quite a few years ago, but I think the Vet advised no running until at least her stitches came out. I could leash walk her though. Just listen to what your vet tells you, as it is most important. Hopefully for you, the anti itch medicine might make her a little tired? Good luck with her, she is a cutie!

How old is she? She looks young.
Yes they can have incontinence after spaying, and it's usually due to early spaying.

I did not post this thread to get a lecture on early spaying vs. later spaying.my fiancé and I made the decision and it's done. I feel like sending me an article to
"When to spay/neuter" is in some way being underhanded.
Knowing very well her surgery is done. I didn't ask when was a good time
For the operation; I asked what were good ways to
Keep her comfortable and if she could have loss
Of bladder control.
Thank you for the articles but I will not be reading any more material about when to spay or not spay.
We did that already and are happy with our decision.
Please do not take this the Wrong way I am not starting a fight,
I just know how controversial the subject is and I do not want
To keep the topic going.
Maybe my mistake for
Posting this thread. Thanks guys. She's
