Defaultside effects of Interceptor and/or K9 Advantix

Hi: 7 year old yellow lab had joint pain in rear leg last summer/fall which we feared was partial ACL tear. After regimen of meds and rest she made a complete recovery. Over the winter, we stopped her K9 Advantix and Interceptor medication. This spring we start the flea/tick/heartworm meds again and she appears to be favoring the injured leg again. It's minor, but she's slow to get up on it and walks on it just fine.

Coincidence? Anyone else have experience or thoughts? Thanks in advance.

    Coincidence.
Her limping seems to coincide with the weather getting warmer which means increased activity.
Also, at 7 years old she is considered a senior, so she is going to start slowing down as part of the natural aging process.
I would consider putting on her some good supplements to help ease her joint pain (Glucosamine, Chondroitin, Fish Oil, Vit. C, etc)

Joint pain/limping is not a known or even suspected side effect of these meds.

You did get her blood tested before starting on the HW meds again, right?

What would I look for with the blood test. She had a virus in Feb/mar and blood drawn for that was normal, ruled out a bunch of stuff that we were looking for.

Before you start up with a heartworm preventative you MUST have her checked via a bloostest to see if she has any heartworm microfilaria in her system. It is possible in NJ for the dog to contract in the winter months. I live in NJ and I have seen mosquitos hatch in the winter on warmer days. If you dose the dog without testing serious problems can result.
