    DefaultTHoughts on Scout's illness

So our 7mth old puppy has been sick. It started last weekend when she started vomiting and wouldn't eat or drink water. I took her to the vet and she was dehydrated. Her kidney levels were escalated so they gave her fluid throug an IV and she seemed normal again the next day. They tested for Lepto and put her on Doxycycline 100mg for it. The test came back negative. About four days later she started vomiting again and wouldnt eat. (also even during the good days she would only eat chicken and rice or wet canned food, not her normal dry food) I brought her to the emergency vet. They did blood work and her kidney levels were high still. The doctor immediately thought Addison's disease as she had all the sypmtoms. Well that test came back negative too. They have had her on fluids and antibiotics and the levels are starting to come down. (calcium and phosphorus were the main concerns) They tested for tick borne illness and that was negative. The sent out an expanded urinalysis and expect results in a few days. She has started eating baby food in small amounts after rejecting it for 2 days. What else could cause this? I am at a loss and apparently the vets are too....

Could it be a kidney infection? I only ask because it seems she is responding to the antibiotics. Hope you get it figured out and your baby feels better soon!

Would you mind if I post this on the other lab board and see if anyone over there has any thoughts or suggestions?
I have dealt with injuries with my girls, but not illness.

My very inexperienced and unscientific thought is when a dog vomits, it's something they ingested. But that doesn't really help if you don't know what it was. :/

    Thanks alot! I appreciate it.

p.s. Just talked to the nurse. She went for a walk and ate a full jar of baby food. SHe was bouncy and her tail was wagging. She is still sleeping alot but that is definitely a good sign.

Great news!!! Very happy to hear this!
But it would be nice to know what it is in case it happens again or if it was triggered by something.
