My 9 week old labrador puppy has a really swollen tummy...I have taken her to vets and they gave her antibiotics but nothing has changed. She is still playful and eating and drinking but tonight she vomited ...has anybody else experienced this with their lab?
(1) talk to your breeder.
(2) back to the vet NOW
Hershey Kisses, In charge of getting Ed out to the dog park so that he gets some exercise.
Take her back to the vet ASAP. She could have swallowed something, or could have something serious going on. Talk to your breeder to ensure there isn't something you should know about, and ask the vet for an xray to rule out a few things.
antibiotics for what?
Worms? And yes, antibiotics for what? How long has her belly been swollen?

My first thought was worms....is she pooping?
My Lab puppy a few weeks ago suddenly developed a huge, hard belly. I was so stressed and luckily got in to the vet just before they closed. I had thrown some of his food on the ground, so along with the food he ate a belly full of sand. Vet prescribed lactulose, which he had for the next 5 days. His first few runny poos were almost pure sand and he vomited heaps for a few hours.
Same thing happened the other day, huge swollen belly. Stressed again as this time I did not know what he had eaten. It was night time, so again I gave him some lactulose. Found the next morning he had eaten 3/4 large packet of cat biscuits. Coincidently he was having his final immunisation, so told the vet, who laughed at my naughty puppy. She told me I had done the right thing. She said if it happened again and I did not know what he had eaten, give him lactulose. If I knew and I the case of just overeating it would be ok.
I think I would be asking for a second opinion if you are not happy and nothing is changing.
