    DefaultDodge has Kennel cough.

My poor boy sounds like a seal. We took him to the vet to have a small lump on his side removed, and the Dr. said he had a fever and started to cough. I work at a doggy day care/kennel, and all the dogs there are fine. I know the boradetella shot won't keep them from getting it.

He has not gone to work with me for a week now, and I know he misses all his friends. He is getting better, and not coughing very much now, but will keep him home for a few more days.

    I hope Dodge recourse quickly!

Kennel cough is not serious MOST of the time. If your dog is immune compromised, then there may be secondary issues.

Glad he is doing better. My recently adopted foster had a wicked case of KC that turned into a bad URI with high fever. I had to get him on antibiotics and get him rehydrated as he would not even drink water. He was shockingly ill. But - he was also emaciated and spent 4 days in a trailer traveling to NJ. So - his condition precipitated the degree of his illness.

I bet your guy is fine in a few days.

I forgot to add that the Vet did give him 10 days of antibiotics.

He coughed very little today. We found out that another dog came down with it too. We have been cleaning/scrubbing everything down with bleach water.
