I have been doing a lot of research on different kibble, and read some very disturbing things about Nutro.. I originally had Peyton on Nutro Max Large Breed Puppy, and I blamed her diarrhea on the stress of coming to a new home and possibly shots/deworming. Today, she ate Bil Jac Large Breed Puppy and didn't even have diarrhea after eating 3 meals of it without combining any Nutro.
Has anyone else had that kind of experience with that brand? I've also read the same manufacturer makes Royal Canine.
I would never feed Nutro.
I feed Fromm and Earthborn Holistics.
Unfortunately, those two brands aren't sold in the store near my house. I picked what I thought was best at the time and it turns out it wasn't.
mrchewy delivers. and fast.
i second fromm.
We switched our dog, Scout, to Wellness CORE Oceanfish due to a food allergy, and not only did her stool firm up, but she stopped eating her own stools (a never-ending habit before) immediately! She hasn't touched them in 8 months.
Follow Scout's adventures on her blog: And Puppy Makes Four
I feed NOW which is made in Canada. It is about the only dog food that has never had a recall. I do feed senior to my two and stools have been firm.

If you want a good food that's not hard to find (not one of the premium brands) but hasn't had any recalls (Nutro has had them)...Look at Pro Plan. Sport 26/16 is a good one for normal active dogs.
there are many good brands, what is available at locally?
Wellness is good, Fromm is good. Go!, now! Horizon, etc.
Charlie (foster) and Rocky
I wouldn't feed Nutro if given to me for free. They used to be a good brand and I used to feed it, but then they changed their formulas and lied to me about it. Since then I've heard some very disturbing things about this food.
