Including Bruno and Duke, I have had several male dogs in my life and they never showed "Mr. peepers/lipstick" (Sorry, I don't know the technical term) but Tony's often comes out, sometimes waaay out. Whenever he's excited like playing with Bruno, or if I pet him too much, there it comes. Is this normal? Will it stop after he's an adult or after he's neutered? (I plan to neuter after one year.) Is this normal? If so, I really don't care as long as there are no health consequences.
I wish I knew. Jack is almost 11 months and I've NEVER seen his. Although I've seen him hump things: other dogs, blankets, coat, etc, etc. It never comes out. All dogs are different, but Jack and Tony are apparently WAY different.
Bentleys comes out almost daily when he gets excited. Tanks will come out if he is super excited...
This is what my uncles says(it is inappropriate but...anyway,lol) it is like a man becoming excited..
It just happens sometimes... oh all the male dogs I've been around only one.has never had there penis come out.
~It doesn't matter how smart the dog is,it matters how smart the owner is.
Yes, it's normal for some males. No, it usually doesn't go away with neutering. What you are seeing is his penis. Some boys just like to flaunt it. Usually when non-doggy people are at your home.

Blaise's was significantly more pronounced prior to his neuter, but still makes a daily appearance. Totally normal.

LOL Laura. Yes Erns is one of those flashers. Loves to do it at the worst time such as when he is at reading recovery at school lol. I make him lay down.
You have to check photos before you share them.
Yeah, both of my Labs have done the same thing. They get excited, and out comes the "red rocket".
My Lab is smarter than your honor student.
Deacon 12/1/1999-4/2/2012 RIP, bestest boy.
Diesel 3/29/2010 My little hard charger.
Hmmm.....should I be worried that Jack's never makes an appearance?
My sister's GSD does this when he gets excited, he's 18 months and was neutered at 6 months. I actually recently posted a photo on Facebook before checking... Woops! Haha there it was for all to see :P
A friend of mine a long time ago had a little mix that used to do it... No idea how, but she trained him to put it away.. She would go "chancey, put it away!" And he would haha... I've never seen anything like that before
Champ's peeks out a lot ... Buddy's is very rarely seen.
