DefaultStrange patch of hair loss help!

I have a 5 month old yellow lab, for the last few weeks he has this strange pstch of hair loss on his left front leg on the top as in the joint. It's not too itchy or anything but I think it has increased in size. We did show it to the vet and he suspected some tick/mite problem so we put anti tick ointment and even shampooed him with anti tick shampoo. But the patch is still there just the same and we can't figure what it is! He is eating pooping and peeing normally. Playing around normally.
If anyone of you have seen anything like this do let me know I'm not sure if I should be worried about it or not .....

When you say it isn't too itchy does that mean it has been itchy? Is is itchy after the ointment?
If it doesn't settle I would see the vet again.
I don't know about ticks as we don't get them so hopefully someone will be able to help.

That is not from a tick. I might suggest going back and having your vet do a skin scrape and diagnosing it that way. Does not look serious at this point but if you are noticing it is growing,, I would suggest taking care of it now.

He occasionally does lick there but it's nothing out of the ordinary , it's as much as he licks himself anywhere else... I was getting concerned because it has increased in size... Thank you I think another vet visit is a good idea.
