On February 22, 2013, Hy-Vee Inc. (a US supermarket chain) announced it was
recalling certain bags of its dry dog food products due to elevated levels of aflatoxin
(typically due to contaminated corn).
The recalled products carry three different “Best By” dates and were distributed between
October 26, 2012 and January 11, 2013 to Hy-Vee stores in the states of…
* South Dakota
(HOWEVER, since Hy-Vee is not a manufacturer, this product would have been obtained from
a subcontractor, so one could well expect that some other brands of dog food containing corn
made by this same subcontractor will also be affected and soon recalled. -- Bob Pr.)

Puff [YF, AKC field line (from competing HT/FT breeder) 62 lbs, dob: 8-'01]
Bess [BF, AKC bench line (from competing show breeder) 55 lbs., 1967-1981] "Poor Bess, the Wonder Dog":
Since corn is useless I won't feed anything to my sweet boy with it as an ingredient. Zukes treats and Canine Caviar food are all I feed. So scary to see all of these recalls!!
