    DefaultAdult food?

Hello. I have a 7 month old lab mix. We got her when she was a month old. The breeder that we got her from was getting rid of the puppies because the mother wouldn't feed them anymore. They had been giving them wet food since they were 2 weeks old. When we got her we started giving her puppy formula, as advised by the vet, and mixing it with hard food to make what we called "puppy milk shakes" we gave her formula until she was about 2 months old and are now feeding her hard puppy food. Everyone keeps telling me to take her off the puppy food when she turns 1 but I have read that you should weight until they have reached their adult size. When should I switch her food to adult food? Im just worried that since she was taken away from her mother she hasn't gotten the right nutrition she needs.

At 7 months you can feed adult or all life stages food.

BTW, a person who produces mixed breed dogs is not called a breeder, they are called irresponsible.

I am glad you have her. It is heart warming to hear when someone works so hard to help a little one be healthy that got off to such a rocky start. She can have an all life stage food now. How about some pictures? We love pictures around here! Welcome to the forum! Where are you located?

When you said that the "breeder" got rid of the puppies at 4 weeks I assumed you were in a 3rd world country. Its probably illegal to send 4 weeks old puppies out of the litter in your state (and if it is not is should be). In many states the law requires puppies to be 8 weeks old before being sent to new homes. Your "breeder" is a complete moron.
