    DefaultVestibular disorder?

My 13 YO female suddenly developed significant problems walking the other night. At first, I thought that she had something wrong with her rear legs, so I rushed her to the e-vet, who diagnosed vestibular disorder. This was MOnday night, and she is being released this afternoon (Wed), as she is taking food and water today. I want to bring her home and nurse her back to health, which I realize may take a few weeks.

Does anyone have any experience with this, and what the elder dog's recovery is like?

Haven't had to deal with this myself but I know some who have. Some dogs recovered again and were "normal", some didn't. I'd do a Google on it and read up on it as much as you can.

I picked her up this evening, and she is walking so much better and more steadily than yesterday. She gleefully ate the chicken and rice I had made for her, so that's a definite sign that she's feeling better!

The discharge orders were to keep her quiet and avoid stairs. Naturally she came upstairs in the middle of the night on her first night home. Jumed up on the bed too! So the baby gate is now blocking the stairs. My od girl is getting back to her old tricks!
