    DefaultHershe got stung!! (PIC)

My poor Hershe got stung in the mouth today. I don't know what she got stung by, but my Uncle has bees on the ranch, so it's safe to "assume" she got stung by a bee. I gave her 25mg of benadryll, we'll see how she looks in the morning. Here's what she looks like tonight.

Since this might be an ongoing issue due to the bees on the ranch, talk to your vet about dosage. Usual dosage is 1mg per pound but you need to discuss that with the vet.

Poor thing! Bauer got stung in the paw pad last spring, it swelled and was quite painful (he wouldn't put any weight on his paw). The swelling/pain didn't last too long, and the Benadryl definitely helped.

I hope she feels better soon.

    UPDATE

This morning the swelling has gone down considerably. She's 44.5 lbs, so I'm sure 2 would have been okay. She hasn't been eating as much. I'm assuming it's because of the tenderness in the mouth.

Poor baby. Kate got stung in the face by a swarm of bees when she got near a hive we didn't know was in our yard. Her face swelled up like a balloon. We took her to the vet & she got a shot of bendaryl & prednisone. She was fine the next day but it is scary to see them swelled up like that. I am glad your pup is okay.

I did, but I didn't see one. It could have been a wasp or something else. The only reason I think it was a bee, is because my uncle has a few hives in the very far side of the garden where she was, and well, she loves to bite at things with wings. But, it scarred the hell out of me seeing her like that with the swollen lip.
