    DefaultNeed new food asap!

We've been a die hard Pro Plan Selects family since switching Beau to adult food at around 4-6 months. He's now 15 months old and is a strong boy. I purchased a new bag of PP Selects Turkey mid/end of October and from the moment we opened the bag he has turned his nose up at it. Never done that with a new bag before--normally he's all over it. He's started blowing his coat, which was just beautiful before starting this bag of food. The last couple of weeks he's started throwing up the food occasionally. Did so two or three days this week. If I cook him food he's fine. We were having to dr the food to get him to eat. Dh finally said enough, there's something up with that bag of food--he's been on it since the start of the month. So, I'm on the hunt for a new food, but don't know where to turn. Love Pro Plan Selects but not sure I trust it right now. Any help?

Is there an expiration date on the bag? Dogs will turn their nose up to food if it's spoiled.

There are many people here that feed ProPlan and love it.

OhI know--we did. got it at petsmart--they can"t keep it on the shelf, so i never thought to check exp date. At first I thought he was getting into the mushrooms in the yard, so we started taking him out only on a leash. I've been laid up with some sort of virus myself this week and was shocked when I came down to find that he had tossed his whole meal, then dh told me he had done the same the day before. I'm pretty sure it isn't the mushrooms, now. Food seems to be logical conclusion. His poops are fine, as is his behavior. Eats and keeps down food I make, and whatever he begs from the kids (and dh)--just seems to be this food is affecting his stomach.

Beau is a handsome dude! You're probably wondering why I have a cat face as my avatar...that's another story. LOL!

Hmmm, I don't know. Maybe try buying another bag of the same, a small one, and see if he does the same thing.

OK, I'm logging off until MOnday. Please post an update for me!

Here's another possiblity- Caleb did the same thing at about 10 months. Coincidently, he was eating Pro Plan at the time, too, but not the Selects. It was during that time that I switched him to Selects. Turns out, tho, that he was just ready to have his food amount decreassed.
